Your garage door is an integral part of your home. It is most likely the most commonly used entrance into your home, and when it is not functioning well, you and your loved ones become susceptible to injury or even death. There are certain steps that homeowners can take to reduce their risk of a garage door related injury. The easiest way to regulate your overhead door is by contacting a professional. In fact most homeowners are urged not to alter the mechanical components of your garage door at all.For any garage door needs in the Hudson Valley contact Hudson Valley Overhead Doors

With over 20,000 people injured each year from garage door mishaps you are more than four hundred times more susceptible to a garage door related injury than a shark attack. Yet despite the facts, most Americans seem more afraid of Jaws than the thousand pound mechanical components of their home used daily. So ask yourself which one you should spend your time worrying about.

There are a few simple tips that you can do to reduce the risk of a garage door injury in your home.

  • Garage door repairs: If your notice a squeaky noise or maybe something seems a little off about your overhead door it is important to contact a professional. A squeak or a rusted spring could be a sign of something much larger like a door failure. Some Garage door companies offer free estimates and it is extremely important to have an expert take a look before something more serious occurs.

  • Stay away from a garage door if it is moving: Some people get the urge to try to “beat” the garage door and attempt to run under it as it is closing. This is an added risk. Garage doors are extremely heavy and powerful, with the varying speed there is also the risk that it could close on you. If the garage door is moving up or down it is important to stay at a safe distance and never walk or run under the door until it reaches a complete stop.

  • Test your garage door monthly: A common test for garage doors is the paper towel roll test. This is when you place a roll of paper towels under the garage door and close it. When the garage door hits the paper towel roll it should reverse directions and start to raise up. If the garage door does not stop closing and move up, it is time to call a professional. A professional garage door technician will be able to modify the mechanical components and fix your door to work more safely.

With the Academy Awards just around the corner all eyes will be on the nominees and what they are wearing. Best suit, best watch, best dress, BUT, people will also be noticing the shortcomings particularly who is experiencing hair loss. So without further adieu here are your favorite actors and directors ranked by hair loss and their need for a hair loss shampoo

Bruce Dern:

Bruce Dern will walk the red carpet for his nominee in the category Best Lead Actor in the film Nebraska. He walks down the red carpet with two major problems: 1) never having won an academy award and 2) living with chronic hair loss. With the competition in his category an Oscar is not certain, however, with NutraCare’s hair loss shampoo he can solve one of these problems. And with their risk free trial policy and money back guarantee he has nothing to lose…except the Academy Award

Tom Hanks:
Tom Hanks is one of America’s best known actors. He has starred in the Toy Story series, Castaway, Forrest Gump and now is nominated for best picture in Captain Phillips. Captain Phillips is the story of a Captain whose ship is overtaken by Somalian pirates. Captain Phillips and Tom Hanks' receding hairline have to get themselves out of this sticky situation and it is not easy. Without giving away the ending, I will say that fighting off Somali pirates is significantly more difficult than fighting off hair loss. NutraCare may not fight pirates but its hair loss shampoo is here to stimulate hair growth while stopping the cause of hair loss.

Alfonso Cuaron:
Alfonso Cuaron is nominated for Best Directing in the film Gravity. For those who haven’t seen it, Gravity is a survival snoozer starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in outer space. Clooney and Bullock float through space and not much else happens in the 91 minute film. It’s tough to say which is thinner, the plot of Gravity or Cuaron’s hair. He may take the Academy Award for Best Directing but without NutraCare’s nettle hair loss shampoo he doesn't stand a chance at best hair.

Martin Scorcese:

Scorcese seems a perennial member on the list of nominees. This year is no different, walking the red carpet representing his newest creation, The Wolf of Wall Street. MS is undoubtedly the film genius of our generation. He excels in Gangs of New York, The Departed and now The Wolf of Wall Street. He has 22 total Academy Awards which may be double the total number of hairs on his head. Like millions of aging men and women, Scorsese lives with a balding head of hair. Some would say it is a sign of wisdom but for a natural solution Scorcese needs to try NutraCare’s nettle hair loss shampoo
