A forward
thinking preschool in Bonita Springs, Florida is using garage door services as
an innovation tool in the classroom. The plan is to have the overhead door
system installed between the classrooms, so that children in one room have the ability
to collaborate on projects with children in the next room over at will.
With this
all new and innovative use for overhead door repairs children in grades one
through five will be able to socialize with one another at the discretion of
the teachers. The garage door system will most likely be operated through a
series of pulleys or a remote opener. The teachers will have control over this
system and with the touch of a button they will turn their classroom into a
realm suited for multi-age collaboration. This feature is expected to enhance retention rates while helping students become more involved with the content.
This project
design is an interesting way to implement garage doors into a commercial
setting. It is also one of the first projects to use garage doors for
educational purposes. The school will also feature a garage door/wall feature
in the physical education department that will allow for indoor and outdoor
play to be combined. The inspiration behind this is to bring the outdoors into
the classroom by combining the two into one.
Aside from garage door installations technology and innovation the new school will also feature
an edible outdoor garden, a nature trail that goes around the property and
connects the existing buildings, and of course will be the most energy efficient
LEAD certified building that the technology allows.
