When someone considers hiring a Virtual Assistant more often than not the first question to pop into their head is should I get someone who is from the states or should I go with the cheaper option and hire someone abroad.  While both solutions can work for you depending on what your needs are there is something to be said about someone who is from the same culture as you.

Below are the top 3 reasons why you should consider hiring locally instead of abroad.

Communication

The key to any successful business is proper communication.  There have been many horror stories of people being hired from India who end up costing clients more than they bargained for.  Sure you’ll be able to find someone who charges you 5 dollars an hour in India or the Philippines but how much will it really cost you in the end?

Miscommunication can lead to below average work being delivered.  If you in turn are delivering that work to your own clients you may want to consider using someone abroad.  The fall in quality may have your client base diminishing.

Miscommunication also leads to things having to be done more than once.  A project that would normally take 1 hour can take 3 hours with a person that is not on the same wave length as you.

 Availability

When you need something as soon as possible you want to make sure you have someone local or at the very least someone who is at the most 3 hour difference from you.  People tend to forget that hiring people from the other side of the world throws off your scheduling when it comes to tasks.  Sometimes things come up by surprise its good to have someone that is available during the same hours you are for quick fixes.

Being Held Accountable

Face it, someone that is thousands of miles away is less likely to put the care into your work because of the simple fact that they are nowhere near you.  What can you possibly do if they don’t follow your non disclosure agreement? Nothing, that’s what.   With a local Virtual Assistant you will be able to hold people accountable for their actions.

Imagine a world where your phone, home and work place is all interconnected in a beautiful technical dance of sorts.  Well you won’t have to imagine it for long.  Thanks to companies Like Cyber Technology and their Home SecuritySystems NY, Home Theater Systems NY and Closed Circuit NY services these once believed fairy tales are coming true.  The internet of things has been making strides in home use for quite some time which seems to have caught the interest of a very important group.

Internet of things

Large corporations are seeing the value in adding the Internet of things to their portfolio.  Enterprises are ready to profit from IoT but are still a bit concerned about security and their network capacities.  Research firm Gartner estimates 26 billion units will be in some way or another connected to the Iot by the year 2020.  With companies having so many items connected to their main network the concern is hacking.

Companies have very sensitive information that can be dangerous in the wrong hand.  Information Technology staff are optimistic though stating that in order to keep networks as safe as possible IT staff should be involved in early IoT development planning before any purchasing decisions are made.  They also recommend that access policies be put in place to prevent inefficient use of network resources and to preserve network security.  IT staff go on to say that the “Internet of things”  is a potentially lucrative market but that there needs to be a great focus on network capacity as well for such an idea to become a reality.

Company Infoblox has ran a survey that has been aimed at Uk and US network managers who are involved in the running, building and managing of networks at companies that have more than 1,000 employees.   The results have been nothing short of astounding.  The survey showed that 90 percent of the respondents are planning or already implementing solutions to cope with the increased demands on networking cause by “Inernet of Things” projects.

It seems like the future is near and companies are jumping on the bandwagon ensuring themselves a strong foothold in this lucrative Market.   Cyber Technologies with over 10 years of experience in this field offers a wide variety of services that will serve your business and home well.  For more information contact Cyber Technology today for their following services:

Four days into the 2014 World Cup we saw history being made.  In the France versus Honduras game France became the first team to score a goal that was confirmed by the goal-line technology.  A bit similar to the line technology we see in tennis, the world cup technology uses a series of 14 cameras(seven on each goal line) to determine if a goal has been scored.  In order for it to count as a goal the ball needs to completely pass the line.  In less than a second this new technology processes all the information obtained by the cameras and transmits a result to the referee of the game.

Sounds simple enough, but when you consider the amount of precision needed to analyze a goal that can be within 5 millimeters of the line and the fact that there are countless amounts of technological gadgets that can interfere with the transmission of the result this technology is very impressive.  It seems that Goalcontrol (the company behind this technology) has done its homework.  Goalcontrol beat out four other competitors by submitting itself to some grueling tests.  Some of the key factors that led to Goalcontrol being picked over the others were its ability for flexibility and functionality with any goal.  The technology is able to detect any type of ball and no modifications have to be made to the pitch.  Goalcontrol also had to go through a probation period in which it successfully detected 68 goals scored during the FIFA confederations cup in brazil in 2013.  Although that was a feat in itself, the intensity cannot compare to that of the World Cup, an event that comes around every four years and holds in its balance the communital glee or grief of a country.
You can imagine why the reaction Honduras had when hearing that the goal line technology found in favor of France.  French striker Karim Benzema made an attempt on goal and blasted a shot off of the inside of the bar.  The ball ended up bouncing towards the goalkeeper who inadvertently knocked it into its own goal.  Brazilian referee Sandro Ricci went to the replay technology to confirm that it was in fact a goal, the goal was also confirmed as an own-goal due to the fact that the goalie knocked it in with his own hands.

These kind of camera technologies have been around for quite some time in many forms.  The most typical camera technology out there is for home surveillance.  Cyber Technologies and their New York Security Alarms, New York Alarm Systems, Fairfield Security Alarms and New York City Security Alarms services have helped detect intruders the same way Goalcontrol detects goals.  Contact Cyber Technologies today for more information on how to keep you and your family safe.

New York City CCTV Systems - New York CCTV Systems

In response to the Boston marathon bombings of a year ago, the Boston Police Force is teaming up with a Texas- based firm, BRS Labs, who has their hands in behavioral recognition. The plan is to install CCTV systems that utilize smart technology to identify abnormalities. These differ from normal CCTV Systems in that the traditional approach is to merely record the landscape and occurrences whereas the new cameras will record the occurrences and analyze the data it records. After analyzing, the CCTV System can then alert its administrator to any abnormalities. This is a trend that we could see in New York City CCTV Systems and New York CCTV Systems in the near future.

The technology advanced by BRS Labs is set to revolutionize how we look at data sets. No longer will our cities need security guards to sit in a backroom and monitor television screens around the clock. We have the capabilities to be alerted when something goes awry rather than having to keep a keen eye on the screen 24/7. The technology is already being used in Boston and design plans are being drawn for Chicago, Washington and one can only assume it is a matter of time before New York City CCTV Systems and New York CCTV Systems have these features as well.

The CCTV Systems are completely autonomous and check for countless number of abnormalities in any given environment. It adapts to learn the environment and what is considered out of place. A few of the things that this CCTV System has the capabilities to check for include a car that is driving the wrong way in a parking garage, somebody poking around the back of the a building where there usually is no foot traffic or someone carrying a bag that is overweight and could be holding explosives. All of this takes place without human programming or analysis.

Of course this raises questions about privacy rights. Especially in the aftermath of the NSA’s repulsive disregard for human privacy in monitoring millions of Americans personal phone calls, one must wonder how far is too far. This system, however, is being justified on the grounds that CCTV systems are already ubiquitous and we might as well make them more functional. And the notion that it was CCTV systems that captured images of the Boston marathon bombers in the first place.

garage door services -- garage door repairs

A forward thinking preschool in Bonita Springs, Florida is using garage door services as an innovation tool in the classroom. The plan is to have the overhead door system installed between the classrooms, so that children in one room have the ability to collaborate on projects with children in the next room over at will.

With this all new and innovative use for overhead door repairs children in grades one through five will be able to socialize with one another at the discretion of the teachers. The garage door system will most likely be operated through a series of pulleys or a remote opener. The teachers will have control over this system and with the touch of a button they will turn their classroom into a realm suited for multi-age collaboration. This feature is expected to enhance retention rates while helping students become more involved with the content.

This project design is an interesting way to implement garage doors into a commercial setting. It is also one of the first projects to use garage doors for educational purposes. The school will also feature a garage door/wall feature in the physical education department that will allow for indoor and outdoor play to be combined. The inspiration behind this is to bring the outdoors into the classroom by combining the two into one.

Aside from garage door installations technology and innovation the new school will also feature an edible outdoor garden, a nature trail that goes around the property and connects the existing buildings, and of course will be the most energy efficient LEAD certified building that the technology allows.

Alarm Systems and home automation in the news as Google’s Nest Labs CO and fire alarm systems have been failing. Nest Labs was acquired by Google in January for $3.2 billion. Nest labs specializes in home automation through monitored safety systems. They are known for their forward thinking techniques that save money by being energy efficient while also bringing the level of communication to a 21st century level by alerting owners remotely. Nest products have long been celebrated as the pinnacle of home automation and alarm systems, yet they may not be up to par with the industry.

Nest’s alert and alarm systems could potentially be life-threatening if not serviced immediately. The problem lies in an inefficient algorithm that Nest uses to deactivate smoke alarm systems.

“According to the New York Times, Nest Labs discovered that during laboratory testing the alarm’s software algorithm could misinterpret movement near the detector as being an intentional “wave” command and shut the unit off. The feature, the ability to easily turn off the smoke detector with a wave of the hand from a distance of 0.6 to 2.4 meters away when there was a false alarm, is a major selling point of Nest Protect. But in its current instantiation, the feature may be a life-threatening bug.”

This home automation and alarm systems bug can be serviced by a technician working in the home automation industry. If you have a Nest product and are looking to have it removed or serviced contacting Cyber Technologies is your solution. The home automation and alarm systems experts for years provide free consulting services to those looking into a new or upgraded alarm system.

It is becoming a more and more common feature in homes to incorporate smart technology or technology that adapts to its users tendencies. With that being said, being on the cutting edge of technology is coveted but it is necessary to make sure you are not endangering lives by doing it. Slowing down to ensure the safety of clients is something for which the value cannot be overstated.
