Events in the winter also include skiing, ice fishing and snowmobile derbies. Wisconsin welcomes visitors from far and wide with countless yearly travel options. You have the choice of seeing natural wonders such as Cave of the Mounds or the Apostle Islands. The outdoors is safe to say that its paradise for hunters, fishermen and campers. Wine and food lovers will also be happy when they discover Wisconsin’s artisan cheese makers, wineries and breweries as well as markets and award winning restaurants. Also, thanks to awareness many of these locations and recreational activities are wheelchair accessible and Wisconsin Wheelchair Van Rentals is a service offered by many travel companies.

Outdoor Fun!
As mentioned earlier, Wisconsin possesses a wide variety of natural beauty ready to be explored by you and your loved ones. Visit waterfalls, mighty rivers, fish majestic great lakes and discover impeccable forests and thousands of lakes surrounded by amazing woods. One of the most popular game animals is the whitetail deer. The state’s department of natural resources reported the population of Wisconsin’s deer herds to be 1.5 million to which there is no surprise that more than half a million deer hunting licenses are sold each year. Visitors to Wisconsin during the Thanksgiving season will see many hunters in rural areas wearing orange for Wisconsin’s deer hunting season.

The Badger State aka America’s Dairyland
The state’s nickname was given way back in the 1830s when the lead miners that lived together not in houses but in caves referred to the latter as badger dens, and the miners whom occupied them were known as badgers. The state is also known as “America’s Dairyland” ergo known for cheese. They are known to the world as Wisconsinites but a common nickname for locals is also “cheeseheads” due to the quality cheesemaking in the state. Milwaukee is the state’s biggest city and a major producer of beer being the headquarters of Miller Brewing Company which is the nation’s second largest brewer. There are also a wide variety of things to eat and must haves while in Wisconsin (popcorn, amish candy and mac & cheese) but if one restaurant has an interesting approach to culinary creativity its Al Johnson’s in Sister Bay, it is an authentic Swedish restaurant with goats grazing on the grass roof.

Arts and Culture
Wisconsin has a rich legacy of arts and culture throughout the state that inspires all new and returning visitors. There are museums, performing arts centers and art galleries that are at the top of every art lover’s list. Historical attractions are also popular and Crawford County, Vernon County and the Kickapoo Valley are areas rich in historical memories. Mound builders, Native Americans, explorers and fur traders all left their mark on the region and infused their folkways and traditions. Preservation and restoration efforts have made history.

The badger state might not be as flashy or ostentatious as New York or California but it is home to some of the warmest and nicest people this country has to offer. Wisconsinites are proud of their heritage and proud of their state. They also have a couple of football teams that have more attendance than the majority of their counterparts. The Green Bay Packers have sold out every single one of their home game tickets since the 1960s! Not to mention the University of Wisconsin (Badgers) are one of the most feared and respected teams in college football with 14 conference titles and 2 Heisman trophy winners Alan Ameche and Ron Dayne. Wisconsin also presents most of their attractions and recreational activities as wheelchair friendly. Visit the Badger State with WisconsinWheelchair Accessible Van Rental. Four days into the 2014 World Cup we saw history being made.  In the France versus Honduras game France became the first team to score a goal that was confirmed by the goal-line technology.  A bit similar to the line technology we see in tennis, the world cup technology uses a series of 14 cameras(seven on each goal line) to determine if a goal has been scored.  In order for it to count as a goal the ball needs to completely pass the line.  In less than a second this new technology processes all the information obtained by the cameras and transmits a result to the referee of the game.

Sounds simple enough, but when you consider the amount of precision needed to analyze a goal that can be within 5 millimeters of the line and the fact that there are countless amounts of technological gadgets that can interfere with the transmission of the result this technology is very impressive.  It seems that Goalcontrol (the company behind this technology) has done its homework.  Goalcontrol beat out four other competitors by submitting itself to some grueling tests.  Some of the key factors that led to Goalcontrol being picked over the others were its ability for flexibility and functionality with any goal.  The technology is able to detect any type of ball and no modifications have to be made to the pitch.  Goalcontrol also had to go through a probation period in which it successfully detected 68 goals scored during the FIFA confederations cup in brazil in 2013.  Although that was a feat in itself, the intensity cannot compare to that of the World Cup, an event that comes around every four years and holds in its balance the communital glee or grief of a country.
You can imagine why the reaction Honduras had when hearing that the goal line technology found in favor of France.  French striker Karim Benzema made an attempt on goal and blasted a shot off of the inside of the bar.  The ball ended up bouncing towards the goalkeeper who inadvertently knocked it into its own goal.  Brazilian referee Sandro Ricci went to the replay technology to confirm that it was in fact a goal, the goal was also confirmed as an own-goal due to the fact that the goalie knocked it in with his own hands.

These kind of camera technologies have been around for quite some time in many forms.  The most typical camera technology out there is for home surveillance.  Cyber Technologies and their New York Security Alarms, New York Alarm Systems, Fairfield Security Alarms and New York City Security Alarms services have helped detect intruders the same way Goalcontrol detects goals.  Contact Cyber Technologies today for more information on how to keep you and your family safe.
