Outdoor Fun!
As
mentioned earlier, Wisconsin possesses a wide variety of natural beauty ready
to be explored by you and your loved ones. Visit waterfalls, mighty rivers,
fish majestic great lakes and discover impeccable forests and thousands of
lakes surrounded by amazing woods. One of the most popular game animals is the
whitetail deer. The state’s department of natural resources reported the population
of Wisconsin’s deer herds to be 1.5 million to which there is no surprise that
more than half a million deer hunting licenses are sold each year. Visitors to
Wisconsin during the Thanksgiving season will see many hunters in rural areas
wearing orange for Wisconsin’s deer hunting season.
The Badger State aka America’s Dairyland
The state’s
nickname was given way back in the 1830s when the lead miners that lived
together not in houses but in caves referred to the latter as badger dens, and
the miners whom occupied them were known as badgers. The state is also known as
“America’s Dairyland” ergo known for cheese. They are known to the world as
Wisconsinites but a common nickname for locals is also “cheeseheads” due to the
quality cheesemaking in the state. Milwaukee is the state’s biggest city and a
major producer of beer being the headquarters of Miller Brewing Company which
is the nation’s second largest brewer. There are also a wide variety of things
to eat and must haves while in Wisconsin (popcorn, amish candy and mac &
cheese) but if one restaurant has an interesting approach to culinary
creativity its Al Johnson’s in Sister Bay, it is an authentic Swedish
restaurant with goats grazing on the grass roof.

Arts and Culture
Wisconsin
has a rich legacy of arts and culture throughout the state that inspires all
new and returning visitors. There are museums, performing arts centers and art
galleries that are at the top of every art lover’s list. Historical attractions
are also popular and Crawford County, Vernon County and the Kickapoo Valley are
areas rich in historical memories. Mound builders, Native Americans, explorers
and fur traders all left their mark on the region and infused their folkways
and traditions. Preservation and restoration efforts have made history.
The badger
state might not be as flashy or ostentatious as New York or California but it
is home to some of the warmest and nicest people this country has to offer.
Wisconsinites are proud of their heritage and proud of their state. They also
have a couple of football teams that have more attendance than the majority of
their counterparts. The Green Bay Packers have sold out every single one of
their home game tickets since the 1960s! Not to mention the University of
Wisconsin (Badgers) are one of the most feared and respected teams in college
football with 14 conference titles and 2 Heisman trophy winners Alan Ameche and
Ron Dayne. Wisconsin also presents most of their attractions and recreational
activities as wheelchair friendly. Visit the Badger State with WisconsinWheelchair Accessible Van Rental. Wheelers Accessible Van Rentals offers free
